"Should Beepers Be Banned

"Should Beepers Be Banned?"

Most people in my school, Murry Bergtraum High School carry beepers, which annoy me a lot. I think beepers should be banned in schools. I hate the "beep" sound around me while I am concentrating on something. When it distracted me, I could not concentrate back into my work.

Beepers are mainstreams in this age, but beepers are not allowed in schools. In New Jersey, people who carry beepers to school could go to jail. The reason is because educators think that beepers mean drugs. They think that making a law to banned beepers can make school safer by reducing the drug and gang problems. Some students don't think of it this way, they think that because drug dealers used beepers to sell drugs years ago. Some parents want to reach their children easily by beeping them, so they buy beepers for their children, but they can always call the school office to reach their children in case of emergency.

Teachers don't like students to carry beepers to school. I have a teacher who judged the English Regents last semester. While everyone in the room was taking the test seriously, a girl's beeper kept beeping, it distracted everyone in the room. My teacher also said that some people could not concentrated back on the test because the beeper kept beeping. Some students receive money from their parents to buy pagers, but some students have to go to work, or ask others for a loan to buy a pager. Students think beepers look cool and nice on them, so they want to use $50 and up to buy a new beeper just for showing off.

I think beepers should be banned in schools all over the United States so beepers won't distract students from schoolwork. There is no use for a student to carry a beeper to school, having a beeper will just harm his or her school works. I strongly urge that beepers be banned. Parents should not allow their children to carry beepers to school, they should keep track on their kids.
