Rimba Kiara |
|
|
| There are 3 Parks at the boundary of KL city and incidentally also edge of Tun Ismail housing estate. Though the names allocated to these places are vague and not well understood. From left to right, facing the Kiara Hills, I would name them, Tun Ismail Park, Kiara Arboretum and Rimba Kiara [translated -Kiara Botanical Garden]. Each with their avian residents. I spent most evening in Rimba, a level ground clearing with a field - bordered by stream and ponds. It is a place that is very secluded and hardly visited. That's also the reason why many birds in the vicinity do not mind making their appearances |

A tiny enhanced pond filled with Water
Lilies and earmarked as scenic spot for wedding couples who seek a
convenient outdoor scene. Beside the host of birds as seen in my garden, the common birds spotted regularly are:- Coppersmith Barbet, Little Spiderhunter, Common Iora and White-breasted Waterhen A Water Lily filled pond and trees forming the boundary of the Park..

On the ground, 4 species of waders had being spotted, Little Heron, Bittern, Sandpiper and Waterhen Railings into the pond and flooded puddles of water draw the perpetual presence of Pacific Swallow Another pond with fishes and ringed with a jogging track |

segment where we see the passers-by. Grey Faced

perching spots for the few residences Brahminy Kites. . Calls for the Bulbul still brings up hope. The Shamas are there. In the clearing where the bungalows are, the lone Crested Serpent Eagle and hordes of Starlings, White-shouldered with Philippines-glossy still perched on the naked branches.
