Bird's life:- Bird species:- For budding birder :-

It is not every day or every where that you go, you get to move around among the clouds. Assuming that  you are able to find such a location, then there is the next obstacle where you would not have much leg room to move around freely searching for birds.

There is one such destination. It is over 1,400 meters high. You walk for hours among the montane forest. Meet up with birds who made this habitats their home. This trail is on level ground for most part of the way and on paved road too. The total length of the trail is over 2 kilometers one way, straight strolling would take only less than an hour. It is along a ridge with very steep slopes, forested  on both sides. At the moment, it still leads no where, returning means going over the terrain once more.

From the trail, the commercial resort of Genting Highlands is clearly visible.

The Casino complex appears lower as seen from this point

This wooded area enjoys more mist than those open parks in the developed hinterland.

From experience, the mist conditions do bring bird waves. It may be a blessing, but it also makes observation difficult. So planning a trip here  is also full of surprises

Rolling hills in the valleys on both side of the road..

Here is a view the road and mountain peaks. The road weaves left and right of these peaks to go around them. It is a pleasant walk all day long beside able to double up the outing as a birding trip.

Common Bird seen here are the Mountain Tailorbirds, Mountain Bulbuls, Mountain Leaf Warbler, Barbets, Laughingthrushes, Malaysian Cuckooshrike, Pygmy Wren Babbler, Minla, Cutia and Bay Woodpecker.

Another couple of  views of road on this unique destination. Birding here is also unique in the sense that we have to wait for the bird wave to move up the slope before they cross over and down the other slope. This is one place that birds seldom seen in the lower level are more exposed in the thin vegetation.

Most of the birds mentioned, had made this vicinity their permanent habitats. When the trees at the summit are fruiting, there is a good chance they would hanging around the whole day.
