Bird's life:- Bird species:- For budding birder :-
The long stretch of land from Ipoh to Slim River is close 100 kilometers long. With mining activities this stretch looks more like a belt about 5 kilometers wide. The southern end sparsely populated is little known while in the northern end, Tanjong Tualang, is known in many field. Fishing, farmlands and birding area. The new Kinta Nature Park is here. Viewing from the area where the Watch Tower was, the spread of the bird able area is easily close to one kilometers long and 400 meters wide.

The place is absolutely fabulous, very scenic and full of birdlife. The niche lies in the fact that birds are all around you. Unlike in other heronry,  a cluster of birds congregate in one colony and every one present had to look in the same direction.

The down side, is that the place not managed. Those visiting the place are fishing hobbyist and they have the tendency to litter the environment. There was a group putting up nets in the lake as well..

On the Batu Gajah- Tanjong Tualang Road, watch for this sign.

Landmark sign -mark the trail head of the access road to the Kinta Nature Park

After a 3 kilometers drive along the Kinta River, the sandy track makes a left turn and immediately you are already in the Park.

A magnificent watch tower in this lonely unkempt wilderness

Floating herons

Yet, another group of resident who prefers the floating sensations or good food among the reeds.

Signs of good attempt to build up the place. As usual, it stops there!
