Plantain Squirrel Callosciurus nototus

This is the only species of squirrel that has so far been identified in the park. It is brown in color with a black stripe along the side of its body.

The bottom is orange in color. It has a long fluffy tail to help it balance as it runs along branches.

It is most active at dawn and in the evening. If you are quiet, you can get fairly close and get a close look at them. It eats mainly fruits and small insects.
