Lizzie High Dolls

I began collecting Lizzie High dolls about 14 years ago. My collection began with my interest in their "country" look and the most charming memories that they recreated from my childhood or as lasting remembrances of special events as an adult.  Take a walk with me through some of my memories.

Margaret Bowman, teacher I always wanted to "play school' when I was a child.  My friends and I would set up a school in my garage.
Darla High, ice-cream in one hand and popsicle in the other All through college, I worked at a Creamery and many of the "treats" were my favorites.
Nancy Bowman, wearing rainwear Dressed for all kinds of weather, my sister and I  would stand at the bus stop waiting for the school bus.
Penny Valentine, pulling a wagon of pumpkins Autumn has always been a special time and Halloween will always be one of my favorite holidays in my classroom
Grace Valentine, carrying a spade and basket She was my first Lizzie High and reminds me of how wonderful it is to play in the dirt.
St. Nicholas He reminds me of  kindness towards animals.
Jessica High with a homemade hand print My daughter, Jessica, gave me this very special doll for Mother's Day.
Darlene Bowman, crooning cowgirl My husband captured my interest in country western line dancing and music with this adorable doll.
Marisa Valentine dressed as a witch  Dressed in Halloween costumes, my brother, sister and I would go trick or treating in our neighborhood for candy and coins.
Cynthia High dressed in Sunday clothes My Mother gave this to me on Christmas and I will always remember standing in line with my daughter waiting for her to have a chance to sit on Santa's lap.
Nettie Brown holding a striped stocking My latest addition reminds me of hanging the stockings on Christmas Eve.
Little Rebecca Bowman wearing a kerchief My Mother stood in line for this one and it reminds me of what we do for others to make them happy.
Pappy Pawtucket, holding an Easter basket As parents, my sister and I often had as much  fun hiding the eggs as the children did trying to find them.  My daughter would, also, spend time repeatedly hiding and finding her own eggs.
Juliet Valentine, holding an embroidery hoop Reminds me of times gone by when I would spend hours embroidering special gifts for Christmas.
Chloe Valentine, reading to her teddy bear One of my favorite Lizzie High dolls since it reminds me of my special passion--reading.
Annabelle Bowman, sitting at the sewing machine Years ago, I made matching jumpers for my daughter and I.  I still remember that they were plum colored with multicolored trim.
