Dr
Bell
As you push
through the swinging doors into Bellisimo Animal Clinic you see the front desk through the
rush of staff and worried pet owners and their pets. You manage to get to the front desk.
The nurse (her name tag says Nurse Rubinstine) says to you "How may I help you?"
you tell her what's wrong and find a seat. Eventually a nurse call your name and you are
shown into the consultation room where Dr Bell is waiting for you. "Now what can I do
for you?" She says with a smile. E-mail your
question about any animal and I will do my best to find the answer for you ASAP.
Dr Bell is not a real vet. For any emergency information or in case where an animal is hurt or injured phone your vet or local animal service immediately!
PREVIOUS ASKED QUESTIONS 1# SHANTELLE M Q What type of breed did the Sheltie which is a breed
of a dog come from and what country? The breed's antecedent, the "Toonie Dog,"
originated in the Shetland Islands, where they were used for keeping herd animals (ponies,
cattle, sheep) out of crops raised on the "toons" (small farms). No one knows
what kinds of dogs were used in creating the Toonies but experts have guessed that
Collies, Icelandic Yakkies, and Continental Toy Spaniels contributed to the gene
pool. The Toonies were only about 10" tall. However, as the "Shetland
Collie" was developed by Scottish and English breeders around the turn of
the century (by crossing selected Toonies with small rough Collies), the breed became
somewhat larger. The name was changed from Shetland Collie to Shetland Sheepdog after
Collie fanciers complained to the Kennel Club early in this century. Beverly 2# VIANNA Q A STILL FINDING OUT
