Welcome

Here are a couple of things for now.

This is a clipping from the Imperial Valley Press.

This is a clipping from the Borrego Sun.

If you need to refresh your memory about DeAnza.
While reading this, I could almost hear Don reading Anza's dairies by the campfire and someone interrupting
him every so often to ask a question.

Everyone that went on the ride after we stopped
going through Brawley will  recognize the
scenery in these photos. Mr Tice the owner of the
site that I found the photos on has graciously given us permission to use his photos.

This was always
a welcome site.

This site is dedicated to Don Vancini, the  Desert Sun Elliott Pope School  De Anza Ride and all of the adventurous souls that made the journey over the years.

My name is Robert Palmer, I was a wrangler on the ride from 1980 to 1990. For the past couple of years I have wanted to get this site up as I feel that I owe it to Don, the school and the students.
I am hoping to find people who went on the ride or who went to the school that would like to help with this site. Fortune City has given us twenty megs of web space so we have plenty of room to build a massive web site. Here are some ideas that I have for the site. A section dedicated to Don, a section dedicated to the school and people from the school and a section dedicated
to the ride.
For the ride, maybe give some history about De Anza and why we did the ride. And maybe a map of the route then a day by day events of the whole journey with photos. I am very open for any and all ideas that you have for
the site, after all this is your site also.
So anyone who still has their journal and would like it or parts of it published on the site or has photos, newspaper clippings or stories to tell please contact me. As you can see that I am not a eloquent writer so we desperately need someone to write the articles for the site.

Here is an e mail from Jim Irvine, he might be able to help locate people from DSS-TEPPS or maybe you can add to his list.
