| I hated to do this, but we all have heard about the
idiots out there who'd sue God for creating the dust that
makes them sneeze, so, unfortunately, I have to add this
to my pages (sorry!): By accessing these pages, you agree to abide by all the terms and conditions listed below: By accessing and using this website and the data within you agree not to hold its compiler (TempestWolf) responsible for errors and omissions. All information provided in these pages has been gathered from books, Web pages, word of mouth and personal experiences and is by no means complete. You are strongly encouraged to do more research. In addition, this information is for EDUCATIONAL USES ONLY and is not meant to be a substitute for a health-care provider. In other words, this information is not meant to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent diseases or other health issues. These web pages also do not recommend self-diagnosis or self-medication and are in no way to be construed as medical advice. If you have a medical condition, PLEASE see your health-care provider! All herbs, like any medication, should be used with the supervision of your health-care provider. Many herbs, like medications, can and do cause side effects, allergies and some even contain toxins and cancer causing agents; they are not 100% safe and 100% effective. Some herbs will work better for some people than they will for others. Special care should be taken by pregnant and nursing women! The FDA has not evaluated and proven for or against most of the statements made about the herbs in these pages. All midis contained on this site are copyright of their respective owners. TempestWolf makes no claim to owning them in whole or in part and will willingly remove them from her site if asked. And last, but most certainly not least, you agree not to hold TempestWolf responsible for any injuries, illnesses, loss of life, limb or property or damage to property in result from any information contained on this website. *&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*& On another note... : You are allowed to copy this Website and do with it what you will PROVIDED THAT all of the below conditions are met: 1. You do not change any of the text. 2. That you make sure my name is on it; I put alot of effort into these pages and I'd like to make sure I get credit for it, please. 3. It is not used for monetary gain. I'M not getting paid for this, why should you? 4. If you're putting it on -your- site, or anyone else's for that matter, please link it back to my home page, OR if you're putting it in any place where more people than just you can read it, please put the address of my home page on it. It'll help both you and them should anyone want to learn more about herbs. 5. (optional, but please do anyway 'cause it'd make me happy ::grin::) Please, please, please!! E-mail me to let me know if you've decided you like my site enough to 'borrow' it. No, it's not for permission; it's just to let me know that you like my site and you're using it. No, I'm not really a stuffy, anal, little so-and-so, but I have spent a significant amount of time in front of the computer, reading books, out in the garden and hiking through city and forest to get some of this information and put it up for anyone with a computer and Web access to see, free of charge, so I think I have the right to get credit for this and not get stiffed by someone else making money off of my hard work. Thanks! ^_~ &*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&*&* My thoughts: I apologize for the need for the above, however I do my best to provide accurate information, but it isn't always possible to catch each and every mistake, though I try. I also can't be overseeing every single person who comes to this web site and takes some of the information with them and uses it. It is good information, but like anything, it depends on whose hands it's in to determine whether it's good or bad. I personally don't know every plant in the world and I'm only trying to provide the information I, myself have gained, both through first-hand experience and second, third and fourth, etc.. through reading and stories passed down from person to person. I do my best to keep these pages as accurate as possible, however, due to the nature of Nature, it's next to impossible to get ALL the information on a single plant, let alone all the ones listed in these pages. In addition, I can't supervise every single person to make sure they identified and picked/bought the herb they wanted, prepared it properly and used it in the proper manner and dosage as well. And finally, I don't know everyone's personal medical history so I can't tell if they'd have an adverse reaction to a certain plant or plants. I also highly recommend that you do quite a bit more reasearch as these pages are by no means the be-all and end-all of herbal pages! Since alot of this information is second-hand, please take it (even first-hand information) and all information, regardless of source, with a grain of salt. In otherwords, people can embellish the truth, or leave out important facts depending on whether or not they like something. I've done my best to be impartial in these pages so I could bring you the best, but some of my sources were most likely biased. In addition, because of today's sue-happy society, many of my sources have been overcautious in placing warnings, contraindications and such in their works. I've added theirs to my own, preferring to err on the side of caution. However, some, like Burdock (Arctium lappa) may have many warnings, then, on these pages, but in all uses I've seen, has been almost 100% safe. On the other hand, plants such as Aconite (Aconitum spp.) have warnings as well that should not be ignored. Again, take great care should you choose to use any of these herbs. Doctors are all good and well, but some people don't like to go to doctors and still others are looking for another way, perhaps finding that the 'standard' medicine didn't work for them. Some people are even looking for ways to take care of themselves, to take their lives and health into their own hands. I have no problem with any of these people, but PLEASE don't stop seeing your doctor just because you see an herb has the same effect as your current medication or will supposedly cure a condition you have or might have. And in case you're wondering, YES, some herbs can be taken in conjunction with current medical treatments, but please check with your doctor and an herbalist first! As always, it's usually best to err on the side of caution and all herbs should be used under the supervision of an experienced herbalist and a physician. To do otherwise is to do much as I did and take your health into your own hands. Yes, I'm still alive and healthy, but there's still the possibility that I mightn't have been! If you do decide to do self-diagnosis and self- medication, you do so at your own risk. I would also like to add that I feel awful saying "Such-and-such is used for this and such-and-such a plant is used for that, but, oh, by the way, none of these -really- work and should never be used," even though they've worked for me and so many people I know. It's kind of stupid to put information out, then turn around and say it's useless, isn't it? But, such is today's society where we must protect those who lack common sense from stepping blindly off cliffs, walking into walls and putting their hands in the fire. (I recently received one of those electronic "virtual pets" as a present and one of the warnings on the label was "Do not eat this toy!!" My.. my.. my.. what a strange society we live in where people eat electronic pets!) Anyway, please use common sense in all matters and take care. If you have any questions, comments, etc, please feel free to e-mail me. I'll be glad to help you in any way I can! May you find all you seek and more; Good health and Blessed Be!
