Updates!

What's been updated in the past few months? Well, see for yourself!

July 29, 1999:

I've decided to take most of the music off my pages as it takes them too long to load, as well as some people have problems with music and web browsers. The only music up now should be on the home page and on 'Tsunni's page. I'm also still going through and replacing the old TempestWolf logo with the new one, as well as changing some of the other graphics. Back on track and upgrading pages.

May 12, 1999:

I've just posted some of the pages I've fixed. I'll post the rest as I finish them. I just keep coming up with more changes that I'd like to make even as I finish making the changes I'd originally planned!

May 8, 1999:

No updates listed for almost a month, but hey, I've been busy! I've been dealing with a sick pet, however, he's doing a well enough now so I don't have to watch over him 24/7!

So.. Did you notice that the index.html page has a new look? New links have been added to the directory! And more is on the way. I'm still not ready to start researching more herbs, but I'm almost done with my "home improvements". I just need to finish them up and post them. All right? All right! See ya around!

April 16, 1999:

All pending projects (Alfalfa) have been put on hold for a bit. I've recently gone through my pages and found a few minor bugs. Nothing harmful, just some things that might affect loading time, typos, little mistakes and some links that I forgot to add. So, until I get those fixed, I'm not adding any new pages. I like to make sure what's up is working smoothly before I add more. =) Keep an eye out for my improvements.

April 14, 1999:

Well, I've posted several pages on Echinacea and I've gone through the site and now ALL the songs on the pages (except for the one on Gaia's Garden Home Page) are a mere 15 KB or less in size! I hope this makes for faster loading!

I've also been toying with the idea of setting up a simple "mirror" web site. It would have these same pages, but without pictures or sounds.. Just everything plain and simple in good old black and white for those people with less than perfect web browsers, slow modems, or those who just want the fast, simple facts. If I do decide to do this, it'll be several months yet before I begin work on it, only because I have so many other things I need to do, but, if you're interested in me putting up a site like that, let me know and I'll get my tail in gear. =)

Herb I'm currently researching: Alfalfa (Medicago sativa)

E.T.A.: Two weeks, though hopefully less.

I've been continuing the 'improvements' to allow those with less-than-perfect Web browsers to view my pages more easily. If you've been here before, you'll probably notice that some of the music on these pages has changed. That's because I'm taking out alot of the bigger midi files and replacing them with files 25KB or less to enable faster loading time. For example, my home page originally had Bach's "Brandenburg Concerto", a 142KB file as the music. Compare that with its replacement, "Anywhere Is" by Enya, a mere 24KB!

The other part of the 'improvements' is adding text for an alternative representation for most of the pictures so those who don't load pictures on their browser will get an idea of what's where. Fortunately, no one needs to load pictures for my web page to be of use to them. They're merely eye candy for those who have Netscape or IExplorer or other 'almost perfect' browsers.

If these improvements aid your viewing, then great. Otherwise... tough! I'm not planning to cater exclusively to one brand and version of browser. Only a fool would exclude potential 'customers'! :Þ

Well, folks, there's your "Tip of the Day." ^_~

Taking time out from my "improvements" on my other pages, I've now updated Comfrey (Symphytum officinale).

March 28, 1999:

Wow! It's been a while since I last updated anything, hasn't it? Well, I've been away, and then my computer went to the computer hospital because it was having an identity crisis. Anyway, I'm back and so is my 'puter. Here's what's been updated:

Well, I recently realized that not everyone can view every page on the Web. I should have realized that earlier because my previous Browser was a piece of out-dated junk that couldn't view half the sites on the Web, and even visiting my own pages was difficult for it. So, to make things easier for everyone, I'm now going through and making a few changes in my pages that should help those with less than perfect Browsers view my pages. No, it isn't completely optimized for them, but it's alot better than it was. Now people who don't load images can actually read the Directory. Helps, doesn't it? ^_^

I am proud to say that my pages are best viewed with most Browsers. ^_^ (When I find the site again, I'll gladly link to the pages that helped me fix my pages.)

I would also like to say that while I was gone, I came up with some new ideas for things to add to this site. I still have more herb pages to add, but different ones will be popping up as well. Unfortuantely, you'll just have to wait and see what I come up with. Come back soon!

March 5, 1999:

Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) is here! And since it's been here, it's also been updated! Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale syn Leontodo taraxacum) has been updated along with all appropriate links. I'm still working on Echinacea (E. purpurea) and probably will be for another week. At least it's getting done! ^_^

March 1, 1999:

Well, I've finally gotten all my files back to where they belong! What else has been going on here? Well, the Glossary's been up a while, but since the Actions List finally got put in, I was able to link some of the terms in the Glossary to lists of herbs! Not all the terms are linked yet, but any that is underlined links to a list of herbs and from there you can click on an herb and it will tell you more about it.

The Directory has gotten a new look! Like it?

Burdock (A. lappa), Comfrey (S. officinale), and Dandelion (T. mongolicum) have been editted and updated as well.

COMING SOON!

Due to the delay caused by the unfortunate loss of my files, I haven't been able to get more info on herbs up yet, however, I'm back on track and I'm currently working on Dandelion (T. officinale) and Echinacea (E. purpurea). Look for them in a couple weeks or so.

February 19, 1999:

Well, it seems that mine were some of the "few pages lost" by Fortunecities, so I've had to go through and repost ALL my pages and files. I have two pages on Fortunecities with over 7MB of files so it'll take me a while to get everything back where it was supposed to be and de-bugged again. I'm still working on it, so, a little more patience, please. And once again, TempestWolf is forced to wonder if her touch curses computers.. ;-)

February 1-4, 1999:

Well, my pages are finally going up! You'll find that most of the links on the Directory page now work. You now have access to information on seven different herbs that you can access by common or scientific name, plus how to prepare and store herbs, a glossary of terms (cross-referenced to herbs!), and a list of actions, cross-referenced to the herbs! Plus, you can now also see the list of books I used/am using and some of my other references. You can also learn about why and how I set up these pages and a bit about me as well. And last, but most certainly not least, I've set up the links to EMF Balancing, Reiki and other Herb sites.

OK, ok, so not all my link links are set up, so, send me your sites and I'll put them in! ^_^

In addition, I've cleaned up a few of my other pages and added a few things to make them look a bit nicer. I've gone through and added music on some of the pages where you might be spending some time, so be prepared to hear anything from classical to a few dozen songs from a few of my favorite Japanese animation! I also added some nice pictures so my site won't be the plain eye-sore it once was and will hopefully satisfy your curiosity about herbs and be pleasing to look at as well.
