Baling & Resthouse

Baling Sounds nice but remote. Where is this place and how is it like? Too late now, the town is just like any other more town minus the high-rise. Buildings were new and well scattered, giving an impression of town in the garden. The town was somewhat well segregated, the old town tucked in a nice corner at the foot of this massive limestone hill.

From the highlands, the new highway to Kroh, you can see that piece of hill. Almost solitary with near vertical slope, the town sat beneath that massive "Boulder"
Now a close up view of that hill and some part of the entrance into town. The new town portion, just after this scene were a couple of rows of shop houses in fair length street!
This picture shows almost the full length of the much shorter street in the old town.

Again note that close proximity to the limestone hills.

Rest House In Baling

There was an old Rest House in town that had served the community well. But the town needs something larger and better to be the meeting place and also venue for more formal occasions.

On another low hill over looking the town, this solitary building reign the high points. A road built for the area leads visitor from the first "round-about" into town up the hills after passing some residential houses.

This single building was no doubt a meeting place, judging from the number of cars parked in its drive way

The operator who ran the outfit was very friendly despite of having to attend to the lunching crowd. There was the reception counter and menu for food inside the dinning hall.

Not much photographs were taken as the place was crowded
