Sik Resthouse
Most people including those staying in northern Peninsula Seldom venture out beyond the Padi fields beside the Trunk Roads. This statement was made as there are many quaint towns with odd names in Kedah, Sik, Weng, and Yan .
One if them Sik was now the town to pass through on the way to the famed resort of Pedu. by the town you read this , that fantastic place had also fallen to some poor co-ordination. |

In this rural Malay community, township like Sik, you will not expect to see the hub or commercial center. The town was an elongated built-up area with more building scattered in the hinterland. But the township was complete with several schools, hospital, government offices. |

The small trading center for sundries, electrical goods and hard wares were found in these 2 short rows of ancient shops alongside the main road. |
Township like this may not be fit in most people mind as the way they should be, but they served their purpose
Rest House In Sik
In this remote, there is virtually no chance of finding a resting place for a night. The more established township was hardly half an hours drive away.

This fancy house within a posh garden brought out an air of royalty in this small community of Sik. From a road beside the hospital, a road going slightly uphill took us away from the busy main road and into a much quieter countryside. |
| The broad driveway and this modern bungalow was common among this up and coming township. Government offices and official buildings were taking the lead to show that country was moving into an new era. Many private kampong houses took the cue and thus this nice looking building was not out of place. |

As expected of small town, that day it appeared the Rest House was not occupied. Inside the main hall was equipped to handle meeting or formal dinners.
