The town of Kuala Pilah
Kuala Pilah is another mid-way town, a place where travellers confronted by the winding stretch of road through the Main Range, take a breather.
| This is one town that has grown at the outskirt. New housing estates away from the town proper. A view from a high ground, gives visitors an insight to some of the houses that typifies the new Kuala Pilah suburbs! | ![]() |

The town itself has changed little. Make up of a single dual carriage main street and flanked by a few narrow roads that seem more like lanes and backstreets! |

There was hardly any signs that promises of spectacular surprises, unusual shops! or activities going on in town. |
However, at the eastern exit of town, on the way to Bahau, this cluster of temple and mosque buildings did project a somewhat colourful and artistic sight!
The diverse colour scheme and architecture made the complex outstanding!
A common meeting place, just behind the main street, here is the hawker's center that has seen better days!
A couple of stalls still display the signage that they are serving terrapin soup! A delicacy that put Kuala Pilah on the map. |

With fierce conservation programme and the dwindling supply of this animal, the shift of their core bussiness to the more readily available noddle is evident

Something unusal caught our eyes, these metallic moulds for the preparations a varieties of local cookies are widely displayed in several shops. The reasons for such extravanza is unknown. Is it the popularity of such cookies or their preparation in this district celebrated? |
