A Faraway Town Named Sabak Bernam

Many coastal towns are overgrown villages and modernised to be named on the map! In fact the original site where the name was first given is quite remote from the place we now call town!

A typical example is this township called Sabak Bernam! It is a complete new town built with shop lots arranged in a square.

The buses serving the area would come into this "Market square" make a loop and return for the next trip!

Putting all those comments aside, in this area there is a "kampong" road the leads north from this "Square". It is a fairly large road and after a couple of kilometers along this road, watch out for the turn off to "Rumah Rehat"

This is a serene and scenic road through the residential country side

Earlier, the out of town road runs parallel to the Sabak River. Now this "kampong" road lead visitors to the river bank. Along, is a long bunds shelters the hinterland. On it, is a moulded rail allows villagers to relax and enjoy views beside the river!
