This little town was renouned
for its minning activities that ceased many years ago. In the late 60's, abandoned ponds left over from the minning days held a good stock of game fishes. Today, the road to Sungei Lallang has again regain glory for the futuristic looking Chinese Memorial Park. Then there is the scenic Semenyik Dam. |
Right in the middle of this single road township, you will meet the signage at the traffic light. The original Semenyik town is now on to the right, another street containing the original town center. Destinations mentioned earlier are shown on this signage, prompting the turning to the left.
Note the details on the signboard! There are a few popularly visited places. This included the picnic area of Sungei Terkala Waterfall. Don't be despair as they too, are not hard to find, being located just beside this road!
| Semenyik has a few notable landmarks. First from the better known Nirwana Memorail Park. This private enterprise transformed the concept of dying among the Chinese community and also built up a multi million dollars bussiness empire. |
| Next we have the very scenic Semenyik Dam. The area with a few kilometers of winding roads meandering the edge of the catchment area is an assetto Selangor's resident. Joy to many fishing hobbyist and a backdrop to many advertising agencies. If you have not taken the drive, do it now! |
| Priviledged informations to a few, there is this inconspicuous Chinese restaurant. Lunch time and dinners in the evening, the place is filled to the brim. |
