Sik - A township in rural Kedah
Most people
including those staying in northern Peninsula seldom venture out
beyond the Padi fields beside the Trunk Roads. This statement was
made as there are many quaint towns with odd names in Kedah, Sik,
Weng, and Yan .
One
if them Sik was now the town to pass through on the way
to the famed resort of Pedu. by the town you read this ,
that fantastic place had also fallen to some poor
co-ordination.

| In this rural
malay community, township like Sik, you will not expect
to see the hub or commercail center. The town was an
elongated built-up area with more building scattered in
the hinterland. But the township was complete with
several schools, hospital, goverment offices. |

The small trading
center for sundries, electrical goods and hardwares were
found in these 2 short rows of ancient shops alongside
the main road. |
Township
like this may not be fit in most people mind as the way they
should be, but they served their purpose
