Lost Rider Of the Sky

Lost Rider Of the Sky

If you listen closely,
On any moonlit night.
You can hear pony's hooves,
As he thunders 'cross the sky.

His search is neverending.
Hear his mournful wail.
Searching for his lost love;
 Lost rider of the sky.

His lean and chiseled body,
Silhouette against the moon,
As he listens so intently,
For the voice of Morning Dove.

Then he races ever onward,
To an unknown destiny.
Often catching ghostly glimpses,
Of her shiny, raven hair.

Sometimes on a cloudy night,
You can feel his teardrops falling.
As they leave a trail behind him,
For his lost love Morning Dove.

One misty, dream-filled night,
When he finds his maiden fair.
Morning Dove will sing to him,
And hold him close forever.

'Til then, he presses forward,
As he races past the stars.
Then he'll pause with hope she's calling,
Lost rider of the sky.
