The date is March 6, 1999. Opening at 4:30p.m. and continuing to 8:00pm at the Randolph Jr./Sr. High School on Memorial Drive, Randolph. The high school is located just behind the Turner Free Library and Central Fire Station, just off of No. Main St. which is also State Route 28, which passes north to south through Randolph. Route 28 can be reached from Route 128 in the North and from Route 24 via Route 139 exit to Main Street. To help reduce crowding ticket sales were limited to 1500. Plus to further discourage ticket sales at the door, everyone purchased their tickets ahead of the day. That reduced the lines and sped them along. Perhaps this best improvement of all, and it seems so simple, was to obtain small disposable trays that each person was handed as they entered the food court. This really made it much easier and more convenient for each visitor to enjoy all the great foods on hand. Plus this year some areas with chairs were provided so that people can sit down away from the food tables and partake of the many wonderful samples offered. This should help to alleviate the crush within the food area. Also the entertainment part of the evening was just as spectacular as ever. All the same great acts and groups were on hand plus several new performers. And this year there had been an earlier Variety show which we thought might reduce the entertainment, but we were really pleased to see everyone back plus those new groups and performers. The raffle area and the silent auctions were also very succesfull this year. And Cabaret was held from 8:30 to midnight and there was a large crowd that thoroughly enjoyed the band and the dancing. |
